Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a square baking dish stir carrots with salt and sprinkle generously with cumin. Pour the water into the corner of the dish (not over the seasoned carrots) and cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for about 30-40 minutes. When the carrots are soft take off the foil and bake an additional 10 minutes, until water has evaporated.
