Beat butter and brown sugar at high speed, until light and fluffy. Mix in molasses and egg. Add dry ingredients and mix until dough forms. Wrap dough in plastic and refrigerate 2-3 hours.
Roll out dough on a floured surface to about 1/4″ thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Place on cookie sheet an inch apart. Bake 10-12 minutes. Decorate with frosting and candy.
